The Tasmanian Nursing and Midwifery community recognised excellence in practice for the nursing and midwifery profession at an awards ceremony in Hobart last week.
I was so pleased to attend this celebration and acknowledge the incredible work of our nurses and midwives across our health system.
The Tasmanian Public Sector Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards recognise nurses and midwives for their professional contribution across five excellence and leadership categories, and this year there were thirty-two nurses and midwives nominated for the awards.
I congratulate all of those who were nominated, particularly those who were finalists, and thank all of our nurses and midwives once again for their efforts during 2020 – the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife.
The evening also included the announcement of the Tasmanian Nursing and Midwifery Honour Roll, which will be launched in January 2021.
The Honour Roll will recognise outstanding contributions from our nursing workforce.
