As noted by Minister for Tourism, Sport and Culture, Lauren Moss:

“Our Government has invested $17.5 million into the Litchfield Central Valley project, which includes $11.3 million of Turbocharging Tourism funding, to encourage more people to visit Litchfield National Park. More visitors will boost the local economy and create jobs.

“Litchfield is already a favourite with Territorians and visitors and receives around 330,000 visitors each year. By improving the camping, recreation and walking experiences on offer, we can help Litchfield retain its popularity and increase the chances of tourists spending longer there, then spreading the word about what a great place it is to visit.

“The new investment and development will ease overcrowding within Litchfield National Park, as new camping and swimming spots will help disperse crowds during the peak season providing capacity to accommodate an additional 400 visitors per day or approximately 60,000 visitors per year.”
