Updated Cross Border Travel-Associated Direction 17 June, South Australia

The Cross Border Associated Direction has been updated in South Australia. The Cross Border-Associated Direction No 17 came into effect at 2:00pm on Thursday 17 June 2021.

The following applies:

• People who arrived in South Australia prior to 2:00pm Thursday 17 June 2021 and who have been at a COVID-19 case location at the specified date and time on the Government of New South Wales website https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/covid-19/Pages/case-locations-and-alerts.aspx (with the exception of those COVID-19 case locations whose date is the 3, 4 or 5 June 2021) are subject to Level 5 requirements. This includes all close and causal contacts specified on the Government of New South Wales website.
  • Level 5 requirements are:
    • Self-quarantine for 14 days.
    • The person must receive a COVID-19 test within 24hrs and on day 5 and 13 into South Australia.
    • Must wear a face mask which covers their mouth and nose at any time that the person comes in contact with the public for 14 days after their arrival into South Australia.
• From 2:00pm Thursday 17 June 2021, all people (including Essential Travellers, SA residents and people genuinely relocating) who have been at a COVID-19 case location as either a close or casual contact at the specified date and time on the Government of New South Wales website above (except those relating to 3, 4 or 5 June 2021) are subject to Level 6 requirements and are not permitted to enter South Australia.
  • Exemptions apply for people who are escaping domestic violence, but these travellers are still subject to the Level 5 requirements as above.
  • Additional travel exemptions may also be granted with restrictions as determined by SA Health.

This Direction should be read in conjunction with the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel-General) (COVID-19) Direction 2021.

The Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel – Associated Direction No 16)(COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel – Associated Direction No 17)(COVID-19) Direction 2021.
