A woman has been charged following a pursuit in Sydney’s south west.
About 9.50pm on Friday 24 July 2026, officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command attempted to stop a white Toyota sedan on Copperfield Drive, Rosemeadow.
When the vehicle allegedly failed to stop as directed, police commenced a pursuit which travelled about 50km through the Campbelltown, Liverpool, Cumberland and Bankstown areas.
During the pursuit, the driver allegedly reached speeds of about 170km/h.
Assisted by Traffic and Highway Patrol, PolAir, and commands in the South West Metropolitan Region, the vehicle was followed to Weeroona Road in Berala, where road spikes were successfully deployed.
The driver – a 24-year-old woman – continued at low speed until she was stopped by police on Brunker Road, Yagoona, and removed from the vehicle.
She was subjected to roadside drug and breath tests which returned negative results, before she was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with:
– Drive motor vehicle while licence suspended
– Police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously
– Class A motor vehicle exceed speed limit greater than 45km/h
– Drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous
She was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 7 today (Saturday 25 July 2026).
