Women, youth and LGBTIQ community to share in more than $820,000 in funding

Domestic violence education for women and girls from African communities, financial literacy training for regional women, and help for young migrants to gain a driver licence are among 40 worthy causes to share in more than $824,000 in Marshall Liberal Government grants.

Priority for the latest round of Grants SA funding focused on projects that support women’s economic and financial participation, build on the state’s Youth Action Plan, or support programs and services for our LGBTQI+ community.

Minister for Human Services Michelle Lensink said a small investment can make a big difference for grassroots community organisations and the South Australians they serve.

“Empowering and supporting women and ensuring our youth thrive in South Australia is a Marshall Liberal Government priority,” said Minister Lensink.

“Our latest grant recipients work across a wide range of fields, many of them focused on supporting women, youth and our LGBTQI+ community right across the state and there is no doubt they’ll benefit from this funding boost.

“Providing funding that aligns with these important state strategies is a smart way to turbo charge their positive impact on our community.

“I’m excited to see all of these fantastic initiatives get off the ground and make a real difference in the lives of South Australians.”
