Works have started on a new lookout in the Port Campbell National Park that will bring visitors up close to the booming waters of the Southern Ocean.
Wrapping around ‘The Blowhole’, at the popular Loch Ard Gorge precinct, the lookout will provide a new experience for the millions that visit the Port Campbell National Park.
Parks Victoria and the Eastern Maar Aboriginal Corporation are working together to deliver this project, the third for the national park as part of the Victorian Government’s Shipwreck Coast Master Plan.
The design of the lookout has been led by the Eastern Maar community, ensuring it reflects the biocultural values of this location on Keerray Woorroong Country.

The project is expected to take approximately 12 months to complete, subject to on-ground and construction industry conditions.
Nearby at the Twelve Apostles, works are nearing completion on another new lookout. The soon-to-be-completed ‘Saddle Lookout’ replaces viewing areas that no longer catered for visitor numbers, providing a safer and more accessible way to view the iconic rock formations.
