Anti lockdown protest 24 July, South Australia

South Australia Police have information that there is a planned ‘anti COVID-19 lockdown’ car rally protest tomorrow (Saturday 24 July).

The current Emergency Management Act directions are in place to ensure the safety of all South Australians.

The aim of the Level 5 Stay at Home Direction is to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by minimising the movement of people across our community. Any form of protest activity is not only extremely disappointing but undermining the ability of authorities in this state to diminish the spread of the COVID-19 virus which would see us remain in lockdown for even longer than necessary.

Those who are intending to protest are warned that SAPOL will be out and about watching for any unnecessary movement in direct deliberate violation of current restrictions. SAPOL will take positive action in deterring and preventing any unlawful activity.
