Appeal for dashcam vision as inquiries continue into death of man hit by car – Belmore

Police are calling for dashcam vision after a man died when he was hit by a car at Belmore this morning.

Officers from Campsie Police Area Command were called to Leyland Parade about 7.30am (Thursday 27 April 2023), after a man was reported to be lying on the roadway.

Police have been told a 69-year-old man was critically injured when struck by a white Honda Civic sedan being driven by a 55-year-old man from Roselands.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the pedestrian for a head injury; however, he died at the scene.

The driver has been taken to Canterbury Hospital for mandatory testing and is assisting police.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are on scene and are conducting inquiries with Campsie Police Area Command to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police have spoken with a number of witnesses but are keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam vision they believe could assist investigators.
