A collection of nine action briefs on quality management across five countries have been developed by GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit). The briefs take stock of quality approaches applied at the national, district and facility level and across various technical areas to enhance quality of care. The action briefs, developed by frontline workers, focus on applied interventions, their results and what was learned from implementation experiences. This stock-take exercise took place in the context of a GIZ-WHO collaboration on health systems strengthening and health financing for Universal Health Coverage, with focused work on quality of care.
The action briefs look at:
- Quality Management in Togo (available in French and English)
- Developing national quality policy and strategy, establishing quality improvement teams and healthcare accreditation in Malawi
- Improving monitoring of quality health care in Guinea (available in French and English)
- Applying the quality challenge approach in Cameroon (available in French and English)
- Healthcare accreditation, establishing a common regulatory framework for continuous professional development and self-leadership in Cambodia
Two additional articles that emerged as part of this stock-taking process are discussed in more detail in feature articles on the Healthy Developments website.
