Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a hit-run collision overnight which claimed the life of a pedestrian in Hastings.
It is understood a white SUV and pedestrian collided at the intersection of McCallum Street and Cool Store Road about 11pm on Saturday, 8 October.
The male pedestrian died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop at the scene.
Police are continuing to establish the exact circumstances around the collision and a crime scene is in place.
