Financial support for regional tourism businesses

There are several opportunities for financial support for regional tourism businesses:

Businesses in regional Queensland are invited to apply for Round Two of the Small Business COVID-19 Adaption Grant. The objective of this program is to support small businesses subject to closure or highly impacted by the COVID-19 restrictions to adapt and sustain their operations and build resilience.

Queensland’s regional tourism businesses are being supported to pivot to a domestic market or hibernate until international markets reopen though the $5 million COVID-19 International Tourism Adaptation Grant program. This funding boost aims to support regional Queensland tourism businesses that have suffered losses of income because of the international travel restrictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The $1.04 billion Building Better Regions Fund supports the Australian Government’s commitment to drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future. Round Five of the fund includes $100 million dedicated to tourism-related infrastructure projects. The Infrastructure Projects Stream supports projects that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas. The projects can be either construction of new infrastructure or the upgrade or extension of existing infrastructure. Applications are open now until 5 March 2021.
