As visitors flock to the gorgeous Macleay Valley Coast and surround tourist hot spots, they are being reminded that tourism operators have also had a tough few years.

Kempsey Shire Council have added their voice to the organisations and businesses supporting the HumanKIND campaign, with the simple request to both locals and visitors to be kind.

The HumanKind campaign will be displayed through highly visible digital and physical signage, asking all visitors to be kind to our local community and kind to the staff who will serve them at our local businesses.

Kempsey Shire Council Mayor, Liz Campbell, said she hoped the many visitors to the Macleay this Summer would support the initiative.

“It goes without saying that our businesses have all had it hard over the last few years, and our tourism operators have really struggled,” said Cr Campbell.

“On top of the lost business from years of natural disasters and public health orders, now that they are up and running so many of our hospitality services are struggling to find staff. So please, come and visit, we would love to have you, but remember to be kind.”

Posters, stickers, and both print and digital ads have been distributed throughout the region, and via our online channels.

If businesses feel the campaign sounds like it may be useful they can join the other local businesses that have already jumped on board.
