JACET Charges – Palmerston 14 December

The Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team (JACET) have charged two men with child exploitation offences in Palmerston.

Search warrants were conducted on separate residences in Bakewell and Gray on the 29 November 2023 with multiple electronic devices seized for analysis.

Detectives re-attended the addresses yesterday and arrested a 53-year-old man in Bakewell and a 37-year-old man in Gray.

The 53-year-old man was charged with:

  • 1 x Possess or control child abuse material
  • 1 x Access child abuse material

The 37-year-old man was charged with:

  • 1 x Possess or control child abuse material
  • 4 x Fail to comply with reporting obligations

Both were remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

Senior Sergeant Wade Jerimiah said “Our message to anyone who views, possesses or creates child abuse material is simple, you will be caught.”
