Jobs on offer at Brisbane North Jobs Fair

The Australian Government’s Brisbane North Jobs Fair will bring together local job seekers and businesses in and around the region on Friday 17 September at the Hope Centre, Moreton.

Minister for Employment, Workforce, Skills, Small and Family Business, the Hon Stuart Robert MP, said the jobs fair will promote a wide range of employment opportunities for job seekers looking to get into work.

‘The Australian Government is committed to connecting job seekers with businesses looking to hire, as we continue our recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic,’ Minister Robert said.

‘Creating jobs and boosting the skills of Australians to help them get back into work is at the heart of our Economic Recovery Plan.

‘Continuing the strong momentum we’ve seen in the local labour market, we want as many job seekers as possible to upskill and reskill and get work in their communities.’

Assistant Minister for Youth and Employment Services, the Hon Luke Howarth MP, said certain sectors of the economy are experiencing a strong demand for workers.

‘We know there is a real need to fill vacancies across the Australian labour market, which is why the Brisbane North Jobs Fair is so important,’ Assistant Minister Howarth said.

‘There will be more than 1000 jobs on offer at the fair, including in manufacturing, transport and logistics, retail and sales, agriculture along with health care and social assistance jobs which will all play a key role in our economic recovery.

‘We are committed to helping job seekers find employment opportunities, whether they’re looking in Brisbane or somewhere else in south-east Queensland.

‘We encourage jobs seekers to attend the Jobs Fair as they will hear first-hand from employers about what they look for when hiring. This fair will also give jobs seekers the opportunity to meet people and network.’
