Liberals must finally come clean on K-Block development

  • Liberals can’t keep avoiding responsibility
  • Tasmanians deserve answers, not more secrecy
  • Labor will continue to call for transparency on K-Block timeline
  • After months of deception and chaos, Sarah Courtney and Peter Gutwein must finally come clean and tell Tasmanians when the new beds at the Royal Hobart Hospital will be available.

Shadow Health Minister, Sarah Lovell, said Tasmanians deserve answers, not more secrecy and lies.

“For six months Tasmanians have been told by the Liberals that new beds in the Royal Hobart Hospital would be available imminently, we now know that was never going to be the case,” Ms Lovell said.

“Either Peter Gutwein and Sarah Courtney were lying to Tasmanians or this project is in far worse state than is being let on.

“The Liberals can’t keep avoiding responsibility here; Peter Gutwein and Sarah Courtney must come clean and tell Tasmanians when the new beds will be available.

“Continued failure to inform Tasmanians on K-Block’s developments only exposes the extent of the project’s mismanagement.

“Tasmanians deserve a clear answer on when they can expect more beds at the Royal Hobart Hospital – further delays to K-Block will only see the state’s health system fall deeper into crisis.

“Labor will continue to call for transparency around the timeline for the K-Block development.”
