The Macedon Ranges has a brand new and expanded bus depot, which is helping to provide more public transport options for locals.
Minister for Public Transport Melissa Horne today joined Member for Macedon Mary-Anne Thomas to officially open Dyson’s bigger and better bus depot in Kyneton.
The new bus depot will help Dyson’s deliver the new and improved bus services introduced by the Andrews Labor Government earlier this year.
The new services link communities including Kyneton, Trentham, Romsey, Lancefield, Sunbury and Gisborne and provide better connections with trains on the V/Line network.
In April, the Labor Government expanded Kyneton’s bus services from three to six days and extended hours of operation. The changes also saw one hundred extra services added and the launch of a new bus service to Trentham.
An extra 60 extra services were added in July to better connect Lancefield and Romsey with Gisborne, Kyneton and Sunbury.
The expanded bus network is also supporting regional jobs at the new Dysons depot with 29 mechanics, drivers and office staff employed locally.
