A police officer has been charged over alleged domestic violence-related offences.
Yesterday (Tuesday 19 October 2021), officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command commenced inquiries after reports a 30-year-old woman had been assaulted by a man known to her.
Following inquiries, a 32-year-old senior constable – attached to the South West Metropolitan Region – was arrested and charged with 12 offences including, destroy or damage property, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of common assault, two counts of intentionally choke etc person without consent, three counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm, three counts of contravene AVO.
He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Wednesday 20 October 2021).
The officer is currently suspended without pay.
