Pedestrian dies after fail to stop crash – Rushcutters Bay

Police are appealing for public assistance as investigations continue into a crash where an elderly pedestrian has now died following a crash in Sydney’s east yesterday.

About 3.30pm (Friday 28 April 2023), emergency services were called to Roslyn Street at Rushcutters Bay, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

On arrival, officers attached to Kings Cross Police Area Command found a man had been hit by a vehicle, which had allegedly failed to stop.

A 77-year-old was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to St Vincents hospital in a critical condition.

A crime scene was established, which was forensically examined by specialist police as officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit, who commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Just after 3.00am today (Saturday 29 April 2023), Kings Cross Police received notification that the man had passed away in hospital as a result of his injuries.

As inquiries continue, Kings Cross Police are appealing to any member of the public who may have witnessed the collision on Roslyn Street, Rushcutters Bay around 3.30pm on Friday 28 April 2023, or has dashcam footage, to contact Kings Cross Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
