PolAir tracks stolen motorbike across metro area, South Australia

Police have arrested two men after PolAir tracked a stolen motorbike across the metropolitan area overnight.

About 11.55pm on Saturday 29 January, police received reports of a black Holden sedan and two Honda motorbikes driving erratically and heading south on the Southern Expressway at Noarlunga Centre. A red Honda motorbike had no number plates and the second blue Honda was reported stolen from Glenside on 10 January.

Patrols headed to the area and followed the vehicles to the Seaford Railway Station before PolAir assisted with tracking the riders from the air. The two motorbikes headed down Magellan Road where one of the riders abandoned the red Honda.

Officers chased him on foot however the rider jumped on the back of the second blue bike that was waiting at the end of the street.

The bike and Holden sedan were tracked heading north on Commercial Road and into Dyson Road however the Holden sedan was last seen turning on to O’Sullivan Beach Road.

PolAir continued tracking the motorbike as it travelled through the southern suburbs, bypassed the CBD into Prospect and then continued towards the northern suburbs.

The motorbike headed into the backstreets of Mawson lakes from Cross Keys Road where it was abandoned in Darby Lane. Police set up cordons around the area and located the two suspects near Parsons Court.

A 20-year-old man from Hectorville was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle, driving at a speed and manner dangerous and driving unlicenced. A 22-year-old man from Brahma Lodge was charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle. They were bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 8 March.

About 1.10am police received a call from a resident in Annabelle Drive at Hallett Cove after a black Holden sedan lost control and ended up in the front yard of their home.

The driver fled the scene while an injured passenger remained with the car. He was treated by ambos and taken to the Flinders Medical Centre with minor injuries.

The 19-year-old from Brahma Loge has been reported for failing to truly answer questions and will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

This vehicle is believed to be associated with the two motorbikes earlier on.

Investigations are continuing.
