Police charge man after more than $500k drugs, replica firearm seized in Lidcombe

A man has been charged after a replica firearm and more than half a million dollars’ worth of drugs were seized in Sydney’s southwest last month.

In February 2022, officers attached to the Bankstown Region Enforcement Squad commenced an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in the southwest metropolitan region.

At 7am on Friday 18 February, police attended an address on Dehli Street, Lidcombe, where they seized prohibited drugs including 380.4 grams of methamphetamine; 183.4 grams of cocaine; 170.6 grams of heroin; and 519.7 grams of cannabis, steroids, $7,000 in cash, identity documents and a replica pistol.

The potential estimated street value of the drugs is more than $520,000. The items will undergo forensic examination.

About 10.45am on Friday 8 March 2022, police attended a unit on Hope Street, Rosehill, and arrested a 51-year-old man.

He was taken to Granville police station and charged with supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), two counts of supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity), supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, possess unregistered firearm-pistol, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, and recklessly deal with proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Wednesday 9 March 2022).
