Police charge teen after incident in Sale

Wellington Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a teenage boy with attempted murder following an incident in Sale on 19 September.

It is alleged the 17-year-old had been observed behaving erratically and refused to leave a property on Dugan Street for several hours.

It is alleged the male discharged an arrow toward police members at the scene, narrowly missing a Sergeant.

A subsequent search of the Dugan Street address was conducted, and an alleged explosive device was seized.

The Sale boy has been charged with multiple offences including attempted murder, conduct endangering life, assault an emergency service worker, assault, affray, criminal damage, arson and charges relating to possession of an explosive device.

He has been remanded to appear in a children’s court at a later date.
