Police investigate armed robbery at Stanwell

Police have charged three people following an alleged armed robbery of a business in Stanwell (Rockhampton) this morning.

Police will allege a 26-year-old Gracemere man entered the Main Street business around 8.45am, producing a large knife and making demands for money and property from a male employee, who complied.

The man then left the business to a waiting vehicle driven by a 25-year-old Gracemere man, with a 27-year-old Gracemere female passenger.

The trio evaded police on Ridgeland Roads, Alton Downs and subsequently crashed the vehicle before fleeing into bushland on Tyrell Road. Police later took them into custody at a nearby property.

The men were remanded into custody and the woman was released on police bail. The men will appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Monday January 10. The woman will appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on March 4.

No one was physically injured during the incident.
