Geelong Tasking and Crime Intervention Taskforce (TACIT) detectives are investigating a series of commercial burglaries and break-ins committed across the Geelong area in October this year.
Investigators believe seven burglaries and break-ins committed over the course of the month are all linked.
On 10 October at about 3.30am, three male offenders broke into a service station on Thompson Road, North Geelong, stealing cigarettes and causing significant property damage.
Investigators have released an image of an Iveco Ducato tray truck believed to be involved in the incident and two of the men they believe can assist with enquiries.
The vehicle was stolen during a burglary in Leopold on 9 October and later found in Corinella Street, Bell Post Hill, on 10 October.
On 15 October, a further three burglaries and break-ins were carried out in Winchelsea, Bannockburn and Lara by two male offenders between 3am and 4am – stealing a mix of mobile phone accessories, cigarettes, alcohol and cash.
Detectives have released an image of a vehicle described as a late model, silver Mitsubishi Pajero – believed to be linked to the break-in which occurred at a supermarket on Main Road, Winchelsea, at about 3am.
The other two burglaries occurred at a service station on the Midland Highway, Bannockburn, and a liquor store on The Centreway, Lara.
On 27 October, a further three burglaries were carried out, with a fast-food outlet on Melbourne Road in North Geelong, retail store on Shannon Avenue in Geelong West, and hotel on Pakington Street in Geelong West, targeted between 1.50am and 2.15am.
All three male offenders are believed to be involved in these incidents, with more cash and cigarettes stolen.
The offenders have used vehicles to force entry or large industrial tools such as demolition saws, crow bars, and angle grinders to force entry.
An image of two of the offenders’ police wish to speak to has been released today.
