Homicide detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision in Hastings on 8 October.
It is alleged a white SUV struck a pedestrian at the intersection of McCallum Street and Coolstore Road about 11pm.
The male pedestrian, a 23-year-old Hastings man, died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 34-year-old Hastings man, did not stop at the scene and has since been arrested and charged with one count of murder.
The Hastings man will appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later this evening.
