A man has been charged after police seized weapons, drugs and cash from a vehicle at a stationary random breath testing site in Sydney’s west.
Officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting stationary random breath testing on Kissing Point Road, Dundas, when they stopped a Toyota Camry about 1.50pm yesterday (Tuesday 15 September 2020).
Police spoke with the driver, a 23-year-old man, when they spotted a silver baseball bat in the driver’s side door.
During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly located $430 cash, plastic resealable bags with prohibited drugs, drug paraphernalia, knives and mobile phones. These items were seized to undergo forensic examination.
The driver was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, custody of a knife, and custody of an offensive implement.
The Tamworth man was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 6 October 2020.
Investigations are continuing.
