The Tasman Bridge will be lit for three nights from tonight in support of the ongoing situation in Israel after many lives were lost in the terrible atrocities over the weekend.
Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Michael Ferguson, reiterated that the Tasmanian Government strongly condemns the Hamas attacks on civilians in Israel and our thoughts and prayers are with those targeted in this horrific attack.
“On behalf of all Tasmanians, I express my deepest condolences to the loved ones of all civilians who have been killed, injured or displaced by the ongoing violence,” he said.
“I sincerely thank Down Syndrome Australia for their support and understanding to allow us up to light up the Tasman in support of Israel and its people. I have spoken with a representative of the organisation and deeply appreciate their generosity and understanding.”
