Wyndham City is delighted to announce local Hoppers Crossing artist Duain Kelaart as the 2023 Wyndham Art Prize People’s Choice winner.
Duain’s winning entry titled ‘Bear-man’ won the coveted Prize. The artwork is one of the artists largest mixed-media pieces to date and combines painting, sculpture, technology and electronic eyes.
Wyndham City’s Creative City Portfolio Holder, Cr Marcel Mahfoud said: “The People’s Choice winner is the final prize announced as part of the 2023 Wyndham Art Prize.”

This year’s Wyndham Art Prize attracted more than 550 artwork entries.
A huge variety of mediums were entered including painting, drawing, printing, photography, sculpture and video. Video works continue to grow in popularity.
