High Street, Northcote will close between Westgarth and Hoddle streets from 12am on Sunday, 28 November until 5am Monday, 6 December, as the $1.3 million Merri Creek bridge upgrade takes place.
The century-old Merri Creek bridge connects Clifton Hill with Northcote and the works will ensure all tram classes and heavy vehicles can travel safely on this key link.
Traffic impacts
Signed detours will be in place and drivers can use Westgarth Street, Heidelberg Road, and St Georges Road to get around the works zone.
No vehicle access will be permitted in the works zone during this time.
Residents between Westgarth Street and Urquhart Street will be able to access their properties with the assistance of traffic management teams.
