Get Hooked on Local Seafood this Easter

NT Government

Territorians are being encouraged to buy local seafood this Easter to support the industry and Territory businesses.

The “Support NT Caught” labels help seafood enthusiasts sink their teeth into goldband snapper, barramundi, red snapper, mackerel, shark, black jewfish, mud crab and prawns that have the seal of approval from local restaurants and retail outlets.

Easter is a popular time to stock up or dine out on seafood, and families are being encouraged to eat NT caught produce to support local industries and jobs.

The Territory’s aquaculture and commercial fishing sectors contribute $136 million to the local economy each year, and support 940 jobs.

The NT’s labelling laws ensure Territorians can spot locally produced products on the shelves.
