A man has been charged after allegedly intimidating and deliberately driving his car towards a NSW Ambulance paramedic in Surry Hills last night.
About 6.20pm (Thursday 16 April 2020), a paramedic was returning to the ambulance vehicle after responding to an unrelated incident in Devonshire Street, when she heard the sounds of a car horn.
The driver of the car – stopped behind the ambulance – began to swear and shout abuse at the 22-year-old female paramedic before allegedly revving the car’s engine and deliberately driving towards her.
She ran inside a nearby unit complex and contacted local police.
Officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command attended and arrested the driver, a 49-year-old man.
He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear
physical harm.
The Surry Hills man was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 25 June 2020.
