A police officer has been charged with assault following the arrest of a man in Sydney’s southwest earlier this year.
On Tuesday 20 May 2025, a 34-year-old senior constable from a specialist command – was involved in the arrest of a man at Sadleir.
Following a review of the man’s arrest, an investigation was commenced regarding the alleged use of force by arresting police.
As a result of that investigation, on Wednesday 10 December 2025, the senior constable was served a Court Attendance Notice for the offences of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.
The officer will appear before Liverpool Local Court on Thursday 22 January 2025.
The officer’s employment status is under review.
