Detectives have arrested one person and continue to search for 10 others in relation to a violent protest in Melbourne’s inner east earlier this month.
Numerous police officers were injured, including six that were hospitalised, following a rally that took place across Richmond, Burnley and Kew on Saturday 18 September.
Earlier today, Eastern Region Crime Squad detectives arrested a 21 year-old-man from Brunswick West in relation to a police officer being assaulted at the demonstration. He has been charged with a number of offences including assault police, recklessly cause injury, and hinder police. He has been bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on 14 April 2021.
In addition to this arrest, police have today released images of ten males who they want to speak to in relation to incidents at the rally.
Police want to speak to the following two men in relation to incitement, affray and assaulting police on Barkers Road, Kew on 18 September.
Police believe the following seven men may also be able to assist with enquiries in relation to incidents of affray and assaulting police on Barkers Road, Kew on 18 September.
Police also want to speak to the following individual in relation to affray and criminal damage to a police car on Barkers Road, Kew on 18 September.
