Southbank police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted in Melbourne’s CBD on Saturday 21 September.
The 22-year-old woman was walking east along Lonsdale Street near Heffernan Lane when a man sexually assaulted her just before 10pm.
A 50-year-old man was arrested nearby and has been released pending further enquiries.
Investigators are keen to speak to any witnesses that were in the area at the time and in particular a witness that assisted with the arrest.
