Police have charged a man and two women following the closure of Operation Tango Rosetta, an investigation into child exploitation in Townsville.
The three-month operation focused on a Townsville based syndicate of people who allegedly procured children for exploitation purposes over the past two years.
The victims range in age from one month to 14-years-old.
A 64-year-old Kelso man has been charged with three counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16 and two counts of distribute child exploitation material.
He has also been charged with conduct business involving servitude, making child exploitation material, procure prostitution, using a carriage service to engage in sexual activity with a child under 16, indecent treatment of a lineal descendant and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
A 41-year-old North Ward woman has been charged with three counts of distributing child exploitation material and two counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16.
She has also been charged with conduct business involving servitude, making child exploitation material, using a carriage service to engage in sexual activity with a person under 16 and indecent treatment of a child under 16.
A 38-year-old Condon woman has been charged with five counts of extortion and two counts of breaching a police protection notice.
She has also been charged with using a telecommunication service to facilitate commission of a serious offence, using a carriage service to menace or harass, wilful damage and drug related offences.
Police bail has been refused for all three people and they will appear in Townsville Magistrates Court tomorrow.
