Public appeal after fatal hit and run in Callemondah, QLD

Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash which occurred in Callemondah this evening.

At about 7.15pm a passing motorist has located a man in the middle of Red Rover Road.

Upon arrival, police observed a man with multiple serious injuries to his head, torso and limbs.

A 58-year-old man from South Gladstone was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The man’s vehicle was located off the road with significant panel damage, however preliminary investigations indicate that these are not consistent with the injuries sustained by the deceased.

Police believe the man may have been walking along the road and has been struck by a passing heavy vehicle.

Police are appealing for anyone who has information or was travelling along Red Rover Road between 6:30pm and 7:15pm this evening to contact police.

Investigations continue.
