Summer is on the way and Wyndham’s Street Surfer Bus will be bringing a range of free fun summertime activities and events for young people aged between 12 and 25 to Wyndham Harbour.
Every month from November 2023 to April 2024, the Street Surfer Bus will be hosting a free event at Wyndham Harbour.
The Wyndham Street Surfer Bus is a state-of-the-art mobile youth information service that has WiFi, music, gaming consoles, art equipment, sports equipment including a mobile basketball ring and soccer goals and five LCD screens and an outdoor LCD screen for gaming and movies.
The Street Surfer Bus provides a safe space for young people where they can chill, or participate in a range of activities from recreational to educational.
The friendly Youth Services team are on site and available for an informal chat and can also provide young people with access to information, advice, support and referrals,
The first of Summer at Harbour Sessions is a chill-out session with a dedicated Yoga Session on Saturday 11 November from 10.30am to 11.15am and Mindfulness Session from 11.30 am to 12 noon. Stretch your body and still your mind with this yoga and mindfulness session on the picnic lawn, out the front of The Elements, with a beautiful city view in the background.
If you are interested in the environment and nature, then join in Learning about local waterways and wildlife on Saturday 16 December from 2pm to 3pm. Come along and learn about the amazing marine environment of Port Phillip Bay with an interactive workshop run by Werribee River Association.
For young creatives, a Young Artists activity is being run on Saturday 6 January 2024 from 10am to 12noon. Wyndham Harbour is full of natural beauty and this workshop encourages participants to use modelling clay to create an artwork.
An Outdoor Movie Night will be hosted on Saturday 3 February from 7pm to 9.15pm so bring along your snacks, cushions, family and friends to secure your preferred spot beforehand!
For Summertime fun, come along on Saturday 2 March from 10am to 12noon for Beach Volleyball. The Huddle and Wyndham Youth Services are teaming up to run fun volleyball games on the lawn. Come along and have a ball!
Summer at the Harbour activities end on Saturday 6 April with Game Zone from 3pm to 6pm. Come along and play the latest Nintendo Switch and PS5 games on the Street Surfer Bus. There will also be boardgames and other activities for a fun-filled afternoon at the Harbour.
