USU takes action to protect Newcastle council workers from alleged homophobic and sexist behaviour

The United Services Union (the USU) represents hundreds of City of Newcastle employees.

The USU is very concerned about the exposure of council workers to alleged homophobic and sexist slurs made by Councillor Allan Robinson during the Council’s recent meeting.

The USU has written to the Lord Mayor of Newcastle formally requesting the Lord Mayor and Council instigate a process in accordance with the NSW Local Government Code of Conduct to address this alleged appalling behaviour.
