New course promotes entrepreneurial thinking in higher education

Karolinska Institutet is launching a new higher education teaching and learning course for teachers, doctoral students, supervisors and educational staff who want to strengthen their ability to foster entrepreneurial thinking among students. The course, Entrepreneurial Mindset in Higher Education, is offered in collaboration with the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship.

The course offers a research-based and collaborative environment where participants can explore how entrepreneurial approaches can be integrated into teaching and learning. The focus is on developing learning activities and assessment methods that strengthen students’ initiative, creativity, and engagement, regardless of subject area.

During the course, participants will gain insights into the history and evolution of entrepreneurship education, explore pedagogical frameworks for teaching through entrepreneurship rather than about entrepreneurship, and learn how AI-supported tools can be used to enhance student engagement and learning. The course follows a flipped classroom model, combining self-directed study with interactive online sessions.

Equivalent to one week of full-time study (40 hours), the course corresponds to 1.5 credits according to the recommendations of the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions (SUHF).

The course is delivered online during autumn 2026 and is open to anyone teaching at university level or planning to take on teaching responsibilities.
