Logan City Council is seeking community feedback on plans for a long-term major upgrade of the intersection of Teviot and Middle roads at Greenbank.
Residents and road users are invited to have their say on the proposed interchange solution, which will improve connectivity in the area.
City Infrastructure Chair, Councillor Teresa Lane, said the existing roundabout connects the fast-growing areas of Flagstone and Springfield, as well as being a main thoroughfare to the north-west suburbs in the City of Logan.
“Traffic volumes are increasing in the area and with that comes increased delays and frustration as people travel to work and school,” Cr Lane said.
“The good news is Council has been planning a long-term solution for the area and we are at the stage where we want residents and motorists to provide their thoughts.
“With our population set to almost double by 2041, we have committed a record investment in roads to keep up with our city’s growth.”
Division 11 Councillor, Natalie Willcocks, said Council would progressively upgrade the intersection to improve safety and traffic flow until the long-term solution is delivered.
“Stage one improvements will be delivered in mid-2022, while a new larger roundabout will be built in a second stage of works as part of a planned upgrade to Teviot Rd,” Cr Willcocks said.
“We all know how important it is for the Teviot Rd/Goodna Rd corridor to be improved. It’s also important that we get the solution right, so I’m really keen that our community is consulted on the early concept design for the interchange.”
A community information session will be held on Saturday, November 27, from 8.30am to 1pm at Greenbank Community Centre (Currong Rooms), 145-167 Teviot Rd, Greenbank.
